Damocles

Damocles is a plagiarism detection system for electronic documents developed by Dr David Squire of the Faculty of Infomation Technology (FIT) at Monash University. Damocles has been used with success to detect and report plagiarism from documents on the web, as well as student-student copying, in a variety of subjects both within FIT and elsewhere in the university.

Turnitin

Turnitin was used as a plagiarism deterring software in two trials carried out in the Faculty of Law in semester 1, 2007. The trials were supported by CALT staff. This report also briefly compares Turnitin with two other text-matching software: Damocles developed by Dr David Squire from Monash University, and DocCop developed by Mark McCrohon from The University of Melbourne.
