CALT Response teams
CALT is establishing response teams to work with faculties to plan and implement systematic improvement strategies. The intent of this approach is:
- to work from data sources,
- to target students, courses and units ‘at risk’,
- to channel the resources where they are most needed,
- to harness CALT, CHEQ and faculty resources,
- to link staff and student development support,
- to focus initially on aspects which are perceived as being relatively easy to improve,
- to provide concentrated support over a short term to achieve high impact,
- to recommend strategies for sustained support where needed,
- to document and demonstrate improvement as a consequence of the actions taken.
Response teams will be dynamic and evolve over time. In addition to focusing on units, courses and programs, strategies to assist student groups such as diverse learners, international students, off campus students, higher degree research students and students identified through early warning and academic progress committees will be devised as required.
