![]() ProfileAnne is a lecturer and project manager within the Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching. This position draws upon her twenty-eight years of experience as a practitioner in international education and brings together expertise she has acquired in the areas of teacher education, English language teaching, intercultural communication, language assessment, materials writing, educational leadership, internationalising the curriculum and engaging with diverse learners, particularly those from the South East Asian region. Anne has held a range of positions in higher education and specialist training contexts particularly working with international teachers, professionals and postgraduates sponsored through development assistance bodies such as AusAid, the Asian Development Bank and the Defence Cooperation Program. While most of her professional experience has been in Australia, she has regularly delivered teacher in-service training in South East Asia where she has long-standing personal and professional links. Anne's early career experience was as a secondary school teacher in Malaysia. Other formative professional influences include positions at the University of Melbourne (Hawthorn campus), the Defence International Training Centre, Monash Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, La Trobe University, Trinity College Education Foundation; the Monash ANZ Centre for International Briefing, Monash College Group, RMIT and the Council of Adult Education. Anne is committed to learner-centred, collaborative teaching approaches, experiential education and active learning and she has a particular interest in developing strategies to address the challenges of teaching and learning in global and transnational contexts. Position InformationAnne's current role at CALT is to manage the implementation of the Communication and Language Enhancement for Academics and Researchers (CLEAR) project. This involves leading the CLEAR team in the design and delivery of programs which assist Monash staff across campuses to develop effective intercultural, communication and teaching skills. Other aspects of her work include the delivery of the Sessional Staff Essentials Program (STEP), the development of curriculum for the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, membership of the Monash University Internationalising the Curriculum Taskforce and the YULENDJ – Advancing Indigenous Voices in Education working party.
