![]() ProfileBefore commencing at Monash, Joy spent 17 years in the publishing industry in a range of acquisitions and managing editor roles for major commercial publishing companies as well as for small educational and trade presses, including Pearson Education, ACER Press and Magabala Books. Her abiding interest has been in bringing to press ideas and knowledge that engage a general audience and help people learn. A number of books she has published have been recipients of the APA’s Excellence in Publishing Awards. More recently Joy has become interested in literacy and learning particularly in children. Her main contribution to the Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) in 2009 is in assisting with the development of Australian Learning and Teaching Council awards and grants, and in revising Monash’s policy to minimise and deter plagiarism. |
