Profile

Extensive teaching experience delivering a range of teaching and coaching programs to diverse participants, both local and international, in Australia and overseas (France and Japan.) My focus is on creating an 'enabling' environment which respects and values the diversity of learning styles, education and cultures of all participants whether at primary, secondary or tertiary level (TAFE, local government, business and community agencies, and university.)

My key areas of expertise and experience include:

  • teaching/coaching workshops on the learning issues of diverse learners and practical strategies to implement inclusive curricula
  • workplace education and training
  • organizational communication and change management
  • developing innovative teaching methods and curricula to support the learning of diverse learners and 'at risk' students

My current position in the Inclusive practices project, involves staff training in the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, Foundations programs and to sessional, library and other faculty and general staff; making presentations on the issues facing diverse/non-traditional learners at staff and committee meetings; continued development of a website for staff on inclusive teaching practices: http://www.monash.edu.au/lls/inclusivity.

Currently researching with LaTrobe university, the viability and introduction of a screening tool as an alternative to the costly battery of educational psychologists' tests for students with a learning disability.
