Monash has developed a Template for faculties to use in producing Unit Guides for
their students. The Template has been discussed and approved by the Learning, Teaching
and Quality Committee and Education Committee, and referred to the Education Policy
and Programs Committee.

The Faculty of Information Technology has developed an online version of the Template
which will shortly be made available to all other faculties.

Assignment response checklist (ARC)
The Assignment Response Checklist is a set of standard annotations that can be used
by staff in the marking of student assignments.It is designed to give quick and
comprehensive feedback on a range of writing problems common in student work - grammar,
paragraph structure, citations etc. The purpose of the Checklist is to improve the
quality of feedback provided to students and to help students identify those structural
aspects of their writing that need improvement.
The Checklist exists in two forms, one for staff and the other for students. These
are accessible as web pages via the links below. They can also be downloaded as
Word documents from those web pages. If you decide to use the Checklist, you may
wish to copy the link to the students' version into your MUSO site.
